Clare Millen is a contemporary painter who lives and works in Cambridgeshire, England.

Exploring a visual dialogue between memory, emotion and chance her work reflects the ephemeral, yet deeply immersive nature of landscape and our connection to it, primarily through a combination of layered colour glazes, sweeping brushstrokes and scored surface textures.

Clare works intuitively with no aim to impose direct viewpoints, choosing instead to draw you through a painted window into a space that invites you to take your own contemplative journey.

My finished paintings are abstracted visions and amalgamations of memories, moods and feelings. They are nowhere yet everywhere. Places that resonate within us all.
